Undergraduate Capstone Project Units

In 2012 the School of Computing and Information Systems will offer three undergraduate capstone projects.

ICT Project

ICT Project aims to provide students with the experience of developing a medium-scale computing project in a small team. All projects are real, they have an external client who intends to use the final product. All aspects of the development process are considered: problem specification, requirement extraction, system design, implementation, integration, testing and documentation. This course provides students with the experience of working in a team and dealing with the associated problems of communication and team management.

Games Project

Games Project furthers a students understanding of game development at both a technical and professional level. Students are responsible for developing the game concepts, their is no client. Students undertake a significant game development project using skills acquired from completing previous Games Technology and Computing units. The student develops the critical professional skill of working within a project team on a task of substantial size and dealing with the associated challenges of communication and team management.

Immersive World Project

Immersive World Project furthers a students understanding of immersive world development at both a technical and professional level. Students are responsible for developing the immersive world concepts, there is no client. Students undertake a significant immersive world development project using skills acquired from completing previous HIT and Computing units. The student develops the critical professional skill of working within a project team on a task of substantial size and dealing with the associated challenges of communication and team management.
