Project Management Add-in for Microsoft Visual Studio Team System

Location

Hobart

Description

Myriax is an award winning local software producer with a large international market and in a phase of growth hoping to establish positive relationships with emerging talent in the Hobart IT sector.
Eonfusion is a product with multimillion dollar multi-year investment and a team of a dozen people employed, aiming to penetrate the scientific market with multi-dimensional spatial and temporal data integration and analysis tool that we perceive to be in high demand.
Microsoft’s Visual Studio Team System is used for development, but in its first version to date it lacks a great many very useful project management tools. The Team System environment employs Work Items to manage work on the project. Work Items can be assigned to developers and follow a predefined workflow and contain any fields useful for describing the work needed.
Specifically sought are:
1) An integrated timer, such that a developer working on a Work Item can start a timer and stop it to record time spent working on a given Work Item. This will involve writing (in C#) a Visual Studio Add-in.
2) Enhanced integration with MS-Project. Currently implemented integration is weak. There is a need to transfer user defined metrics between the Team Systems database and an MS-Project file and to be able to present lucid summaries of work in Gantt chart format in Project. This will involve writing an MS-Project Add-in (in C#) to interface with the Team System.

Project Technical Information

C# is the envisaged language and Visual Studio the envisaged environment.
