Insight4 would like to offer students the opportunity to develop an application
of their choice on the Apple iPhone OS platform. We are looking for students
who are creative, have strong technical skills, are willing to challenge themselves,
and are motivated to set their own goals.
Apple will release the iPhone SDK (Software Developer Kit) mid-February. This
will allow legitimate development of 3rd party applications on the iPhone.
Students would have an initial meeting with Insight4’s marketing director
to present their iPhone application idea and decide on the final project brief.
Ideas for applications include:
• Social networking
• Media consumption, management, editing, or sharing, e.g., photos
• Productivity and collaboration such as email, IM, calendar, etc.
• Gaming
• News and information
• Rethinking of traditional user interfaces
• Use of mash-up functionality
• Use of location-based services
• Humanitarian benefits
• Applications in service of global economic development
• Whatever you're excited about!
Sell your iPhone Application!
It is expected that Apple will provide the ability for developers to sell 3rd
party iPhone applications via iTunes later in 2008. If suitable, Insight4 will
assist and sponsor the certification of the application to give students the
opportunity to market and sell their software.

Note: An actual iPhone is not required to undertake the project.

etc.)
Intellectual property will be shared between Insight4 Pty Ltd and the student group on a 50/50 basis.
