Description

As Business Operations manager for OnPix I am, responsible for all internal operations of the company. I have 13 Years experience in the IT Industry 9 of those with IBM Global Services.
Currently OnPix Sends between 40K and 70K Emails per month on behalf of our clients. Due to the nature of the communication OnPix requires an email campaign management tool more specifically tailored to our needs than those currently on the market whilst still being compliant with Anti Spam regulations,
It is envisaged that the system will be capable of taking raw list data from a MYSQL database and merging into customised emails for each email address.
The system needs to be capable of sending up to 30K emails during a session and must heed and manage client unsubscribe wishes.
In addition the system should be capable of tracking and reporting on the number of emails sent and the open rate (number of emails viewed).
In addition the system should have basic test functionality where an email campaign can be sent to a test list for approval prior to being launched to end consumers.
The system should have inbuilt approval process to allow for client/management sign off of content, along with step-by-step process management tools.
OnPix has reviewed a number of other applications and can provide technical support for the development team along with assisting with the design of the transmission infrastructure.
It is hoped that the end product will be sufficiently stable to be used in the OnPix Production environment.

Project Technical Information

Project will need to send 30K + Emails per session must be multithreaded and capable of taking email list from MYSQL database. In addition will need to replace Markers in email with Fields from Database and must run on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and IIS.

IMPORTANT: The School will NOT supply an IIS server for this project, will require the students to supply their own resources.
