Project Description:
ISW has a long history of developing IBM Lotus Notes applications for clients
both locally, interstate and overseas. In recent times, we have added the IBM
Forms technology to our client offerings, particularly in the field of integrating
both IBM Forms and Lotus Notes databases. IBM Forms provides organisations with
the ability to deliver pixel-perfect forms to internal and external users via
the IBM Forms viewer client or a web browser.
The combination of IBM Forms and ISW's Workflow Xpress Lotus Notes based workflow
engine, brings together open standards based rich eForms capabilities with advanced
workflow and business process automation.
In this project, students will tighten this integration by developing a tool
that can convert an IBM Form to a Lotus Notes Form and vice versa.
This will require students to become familiar with XFDL (eXtensible Forms Description
Language - a subset of XML that defines the content and appearance of a Lotus
Form) and DXL (Domino XML - a subset of XML that defines the content and appearance
of a Lotus Notes form).
