Echoview User Interface Analyst

Description

Myriax is an award winning local software producer with a large international market and in a phase of growth hoping to establish positive relationships with emerging talent in the Hobart IT sector.
Echoview, our flagship product, is a software tool used by scientists in combination with hydroacoustic equipment for advanced analysis of the echo data. This is most commonly for the purpose of biomass estimation in the field or behavioural analysis of marine species.
The user interface is currently examined once ever three month manually in a process that consumes roughly two person weeks of effort and is particularly prone to human error. We seek to automate this process.
Desired is a tool which can either by accessing the windows interface directly and/or in combination with the COM interface Echoview exposes traverses the user interface diagnosing consistency with previous traversals and flagging changes in such a way that those changes can in turn be indicated as expected and a desirable outcome of development.
It should require minimal setup and configuration and be maximally autonomous, able to run on demand, overnight on a server if need be, producing a summary of results useful for feedback to the development team.

Project Technical Information

C# is the envisaged language and Visual Studio the envisaged environment. Echoview is written in Borland C++ and exposes a COM interface which exposes part of its user interface and can be extended as needed.
