Describe one skill you have develop that will be useful for your future
Among the many skills that I have acquired during the project, Team Management is the one that
was the most vital and most frequently exercised. I believe itís the most significant variable
in the success of any team; as such I did my best to develop it and successfully used it to keep
the team working as one, achieving high standards at the toughest of times. I will definitely use
this valuable skill in the future.
Describe one problem you have had that was caused by working in a team
The only problem Iíve faced in our team environment was the ability to adjust and work around
team membersí time commitments and working habits. Differences in the style of code produced
made it challenging to integrate it all into one error free software.
How did you overcome the problem?
There had to be some meetings when everyone agreed to dedicate their time to work in a group. This way
we could instantly share the information and work to achieve a common goal. The work was allocated to
team members in accordance to their skills and knowledge of the area. Difference in coding style was
resolved by closely sticking to the UML model developed in the design stage, this ensured that the code
written by the individuals carried out a specific task.
Provide constructive advice for future students about forming a team or about choosing a project
When choosing a team its important to be in a group of people that are aiming to get the same mark as
you. This will ensure that everyone has the same workload and produces the same quality of work. It is
also important to have a variety of skills in your team. You should not worry about being in a team
with total strangers as you will quickly get to know them. Choosing the actual project is just as
important, however it is a lot harder, as often descriptions of the projects can be totally misleading.
