The Neural Expert Support System Integrated Engine, or NESSIE, is to be an artificial intelligence help desk to relieve help desk operators from the common, repetitive and relatively simple problems that are faced by customers on a day to day basis. NESSIE will initially be used for Nunatak Systems software products, but will have the modularity to make it portable to many other business situations.

As part of our 3rd year computing course at the University of Tasmania we have been assigned the task of working with Nunatak Systems Pty Ltd. Nunatak Systems is a developer of highly integrated Information Management Solutions for small businesses, educational institutions and medium size enterprises. The company has asked us to develop a Neural Expert Support System Integrated Engine (NESSIE).
