			<title>Student Lab Closures Over Summer</title>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Most of the CIS computer labs in Hobart and Launceston have now been closed until semester 1, 2010.</br><ul><li><b>HOBART</b></br>The two labs currently available for student use are PC Lab 4 (room 369) and Mac Lab 1 (room 376), both in the Centenary Building.</br>The Masters Lab in the CIS Building is still available as before, to those with prox card access.</li></br><li><b>LAUNCESTON</b></br>Only the Multi-Purpose (Windows/Mac) Lab (room V197) is available for student use. After 1/12/09, after hours access will be disabled. If you require access after hours for study purposes (e.g. Summer School units), please apply at the Help Desk</li></br></ul></p>]]></description>

			<title>Ubuntu 9.10 Now Available</title>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>The latest releases of Ubuntu Linux (9.10, Karmic Koala) is now available for burning in the School's labs. There are three versions available - i386 Server, i386 Desktop, and i386 NetBook.</br></br>On Macintosh systems, choose the "CD+DVD ISO Images" link in the Shortcuts folder of the Dock. Instructions for burning the images are in a text document inside this folder.</br></br>On PCs, select "Start->Computing Resources->CD Images on huntley" (Hobart), or "Start->Computing Resources->CD Images on liffey" (Launceston) to mount the share. Instructions for burning the images are posted on the lab walls, and in a PDF document inside the share.</p>]]></description>
